How It Works

Install & Activate

Download the plugin from your ExtremeWP account, upload to WordPress, and activate. Requires HivePress core (and HivePress Marketplace or compatible payment extension for actual commission collection).

Create Commission Tiers in Settings

Go to HivePress > Role Based Commissions. Create tiers (e.g., Bronze 15%, Silver 12%, Gold 10%, Platinum 8%). Set optional sales volume thresholds for automatic upgrades.

Assign Default Tier Per Vendor Role

Map each WordPress role (e.g., Vendor, Premium Vendor, Enterprise Vendor) to a commission tier. New vendors get the tier for their role. Optionally set category-specific overrides.

Vendors Earn Their Tier's Rate, Upgrade as They Sell

When a sale occurs, the plugin looks up the vendor's tier (or override), applies the rate, and records the commission. Vendors who hit volume thresholds automatically upgrade. Reports show everything.

Yes. HP Role Based Commissions integrates with HivePress Marketplace, which supports Stripe Connect and PayPal Payouts. Commission is calculated per transaction and deducted before the vendor payout. The plugin hooks into the same payment flow HivePress uses.
How are tiers calculated for automatic upgrades?▼
You define sales volume thresholds (e.g., 100 completed orders = Silver). The plugin counts completed, paid orders per vendor. When a vendor crosses a threshold, their tier upgrades. The count is based on order history—retroactive if you add the plugin to an existing marketplace.
Can I set a custom commission rate for a specific vendor?▼
Yes. Each vendor has a "Commission Override" field in their user profile. Enter a percentage (e.g., 5) and that rate applies to all their sales, overriding role and category rules. Leave blank to use the default tier logic.
Is it compatible with the HivePress Marketplace extension?▼

When an order is refunded, the plugin reverses the commission. The vendor's commission balance is adjusted. Partial refunds proportionally reduce commission. Refund handling respects your HivePress Marketplace refund settings.
